# Leave Register

To view and download the leave register, go to the Reports > Attendance Reports > Leave Register.

### Generating Leave Register

Select a particular period for which you want to view the leave register. To filter the report by location or department, select the respective value otherwise leave the default selections. Click on the ‘View’ to see the register on the screen. you can also search the leave register for a specific employee. Search the employee by name or code in the ‘Select Employee’ section.

Click on the ‘Download’ button to download the leave register in excel format.

**What is the importance of the Leave Register?**

Maintaining a leave register is one of the essential tasks of an HR as leave register helps to track the yearly attendance of employees for performance appraisal. Apart from this maintaining a leave record is mandatory as per the companies act 2013. Thus it is important to calculate no of days present in the previous financial year.
